Bachelor, Canada: 25.2m grading 5.6g/t Au from 72.4m depth (14-126)

(Aug 8, 2016)

Metanor Resources is showing it has resource upgrade potential at home and away, with the latest assays at its operating Bachelor mine in Quebec, Canada, complementing recent hits from the Barry openpit project, 117km away. Mine development to access these high-grade zones is likely to start shortly

While drilling at Barry produced some continuous gold hits close to surface that may prove part of an economic deposit, the latest exploration at Bachelor has revealed higher-grade assays that, due to its proximity to the operating mill, will come into the production fold sooner, rather than later.

The standout hole came from 72.4m depth with a 25.2m intercept grading 5.6g/t Au. Within this was an 8.4m length averaging 9.2g/t Au from 72.4m depth. A drill hole a little deeper – 103.7m depth – returned a 6.1m intersection averaging 11.1g/t Au.

All that is left before mine development can begin at level 14 is some modelling to determine the dimension of these zones.

Meanwhile, Metanor is wasting no time in developing its Barry project into a 30,000-35,000 ounce per annum gold operation following a resource upgrade in June.

It is no surprise its share price has more than doubled in the past year.

Expect further upward momentum in the near term.
