The Castellanos lead-zinc mine of Cuba is about to be put into production according to BNAmericas website.

This project is located in the province of Pinar del Rio, developed by the Empresa Mixta Minera del Caribe, will be completed and put into operation in July.

Up to now, the project has invested more than $ 200 million. It is expected to produce more than 220,000 tons of lead and zinc concentrate per year.

It is expected to export for the first time in October this year, and will reach design capacity in the first season of 2018.

The Empresa Mixta Minera del Caribe is a joint venture by the Geominera, Europe and Angola.
